There is an abundance of quality surf throughout Taiwan. Biggest
swells usually occur from June to August, but this is not the rule, as
huge waves can occur at any time, created from violent storm activities
far off in the South East area of the Pacific Rim.

Most of the best locations are in South Taiwan are known by Sammy and
his buddies. There are a number of good surfing location on the southern
end of Taiwan's East coast too. Depending on the time of year you are in
Taiwan has an effect on where you surf. You never really know what you may be getting into as ocean
conditions change rapidly.

Sammy at Fu Dog Surf has some really helpful stuff. The dry season is basically from March through November, where SE trade winds take over, creating offshores on the western coasts of the islands, and hence all the pumping lefts. The border months of the dry season (March and November), are characterized by variable wind and weather conditions. This is a great place to get quality, uncrowded waves.
